Tom McCalmont is CEO and cofounder of Paired Power, a manufacturer of innovative products that pair solar power with electric vehicle and energy storage technology. Paired Power developed, patented, and introduced its pioneering line of EV chargers that can charge electric vehicles directly from sunlight, offgrid. Tom is a serial entrepreneur with over twenty years’ experience building innovative solar businesses. Tom and his business partner cofounded McCalmont Engineering, a solar engineering design firm that has designed over 8 gigawatts of large and utility-scale solar and energy storage projects in 40 U.S. states over the past 13 years, representing over 5% of all the solar capacity designed in the U.S. during that period. From 2001 to 2009 Tom served as cofounder and CEO of Regrid Power, one of the first and most successful solar installation companies in Northern California. Tom serves on the Board of Trustees of Muskingum University and previously served on the Board of the nonprofit Joint Venture: Silicon Valley. The holder of 17 U.S. patents, he has a demonstrated track record of creatively applying new technology to solving real-world customer problems. A certified Professional Engineer and charter NABCEP-certified Solar PV Installer, Tom holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and both Doctor of Science and B.S. degrees from Muskingum University.
